Recent revelations about Premier Doug Ford’s $100 million deal with Elon Musk—a close ally of the Trump administration—highlight the urgent need for leadership that prioritizes the people of this province over political insiders and foreign billionaires. Under Bonnie Crombie’s leadership, we are calling on Doug Ford to cancel this ill-conceived agreement and pursue a “Made in Ontario” solution that protects jobs, families, and taxpayers.
This so-called “sweetheart deal” not only funnels Ontarians’ hard-earned tax dollars into the hands of a controversial figure who supports harmful tariffs on Canadian goods but also undermines our ability to develop local solutions. At a time when hundreds of thousands of Ontario workers face uncertainty due to these tariffs, it is unacceptable for Ford to prioritize enriching Musk over investing in Ontario’s economy.
The Ontario Liberal Party envisions a different path—one that champions innovation, accountability, and fairness. We will fight for policies that create opportunities for local businesses and workers, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are reinvested into our communities. By fostering partnerships with Ontario-based companies, we can build sustainable infrastructure and protect jobs while reducing dependence on foreign entities with conflicting interests.
