When unfair trade policies threaten our economy and jobs, we the Ontario Liberal’s leadership to take decisive action. I fully support a coordinated response between the provincial and federal governments to push back against Donald Trump’s tariffs and protect Ontario’s industries.
As your MPP, I would:
- Establish a Fight Tariffs Fund – This initiative will provide Ontario businesses with access to lower-than-market interest rates to help them sustain operations, invest in growth, and protect jobs.
- Work with Other Provinces – By eliminating unnecessary interprovincial trade barriers, we can strengthen our internal economy and promote a true “Team Canada” approach to economic resilience.
- Prioritize Smart Spending – I will ensure infrastructure spending is directed toward essential projects like hospitals, schools, roads, and transit, supporting both job creation and long-term economic growth.
Strengthening Ontario by Fixing Ontario’s Health Care System
Under Doug Ford’s leadership, Ontario’s health care system has suffered. Too many families are without a family doctor, emergency rooms are overburdened, and front-line workers are stretched thin. We need solutions now.
As your Ontario Liberal MPP, I will advocate for policies that:
- Incentivize Health Care Professionals to Return to Canada – By offering bonuses to Canadian nurses and doctors currently practicing in the U.S., we can bring vital talent back home and reduce wait times for medical care.
- Expand Access to Family Doctors – Everyone in Ontario deserves a primary health care provider, and I will fight to make that a reality.
- Support Frontline Health Workers – Investing in better working conditions and fair wages for our health care professionals is essential to retaining talent and improving patient care.
Strengthening Ontario by Making Life More Affordable for Ontarians
The cost of living in Ontario is rising, and families are feeling the strain. I will champion policies designed to ease financial pressures and put more money back in your pocket.
- End Hidden Taxes on Home Building – Eliminating these costs could save homebuyers up to $170,000 on a new home and make housing more affordable.
- Introduce Phased-In Rent Control – By stabilizing rental costs, we can ensure housing remains accessible for everyone, including young families and seniors.
- Implement the More for You Tax Cut – Cutting taxes will save Ontario families up to $1,150 a year by removing HST from home heating and hydro bills.
Making Ontario Stroger by Supporting Small Businesses and Workers
Ontario’s small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but they need support to grow and thrive. I will work to:
- Cut the Small Business Tax Rate in Half – Reducing the rate from 3.2% to 1.6% will save small business owners up to $18,000 annually, allowing them to reinvest in their businesses and employees.
- Ensure Fair Procurement Practices – I will push for a policy that prioritizes Canadian businesses over American competitors like Elon Musk’s Starlink when awarding government contracts.
- Boost Investment in Key Sectors – By focusing on industries that create stable, well-paying jobs, we can strengthen Ontario’s workforce and economy.
